Amber is magic. It looks like it should be heavy but it's weightless. And when you think of it as the blood of trees, you can't help but get a little twinge of the mysterious from it.

That's something that always gets me when I pick something with a really big piece of amber on it.
When I was a kid, my grandma had an amber pendant with leaf inclusions. It was so pretty, I couldn't stop staring at it and letting her tell me about how the leaves got in there.

Now opals ... gosh, I really wish I had a big black opal, they are so intriguing!
